About Us
Bananas About Bikes is a Weybridge based business providing servicing and repairs to bicycles, which has evolved out of a passion for cycling and the love of maintaining bikes for many years.
We pride ourselves on a professional service, paying meticulous attention to detail and looking after the customer’s needs.
All work is carried out by a technician certified to Cytech Technical Two or higher, so you can be safe in the knowledge that your bike is receiving the best possible service.
Cytech is the internationally recognised training and accreditation scheme for bicycle technicians, with Technical Two being the worldwide industry benchmark.
Benefits of Proper Cycle Maintenance
Servicing and maintenance of your bike is very important for a number of reasons.
Firstly, you have bought a bike which hopefully will be your pride and joy to own. So, by keeping it in good clean condition, it will help to give you years of reliability and enjoyment. By keeping your tyres at the recommend inflated pressures will reduce the chance of getting any punctures, but not stop them.
Components will wear out over time, so by maintaining your bike, you can replace items before the bike lets you down. Keeping your bike in clean condition will prevent any corrosion build up and also reduce the wear of the chain and other drive train components.
Services & Pricing
We provide 3 different types of service, ranging from a general service, a more comprehensive check with a clean and polish, to a full strip down of the cycle to give a more thorough and detailed service. We can also carry out maintenance or repairs on an individual basis, covering any typical repair that can be encountered on a bike.
Prices do not include parts and are based on labour costs. Collection and return within a 5 mile radius for a nominal fee.
General Service

Check wheel hubs and adjust if needed
Measure chain length and lubricate
Check and adjust gears and brakes
Inspect headset and adjust if required
Check bottom bracket and pedal crank arms
Check seat and seat post are secured correctly
Inspect tyres and correctly inflate
Wheels - check trueness and adjust if required
Re-lubricate chain, front and rear derailleur
Intermediate Service
£100Excluding Parts
The same as the General Service plus:
Inspect drive-train, clean and re-lubricate
Check gears for indexing and adjust if needed
Check cables for wear and replace if needed
Replace brake blocks and pads if required
Remove pedals, re-grease and refit
Torque nuts and bolts to recommended limits
Major Service

Thorough wash, clean and polish of the bike
Remove wheels, service and adjust bearings
Remove, check, lubricate and adjust headset
Remove and check crankset and bottom bracket
Replace brake inner/outer gear cables (if needed)

De-grease, check and service drivetrain
